Then we went to get Dad a birthday present: Happy Birthday, Daddy! (Seriously, this is what he wanted. I appreciate relatives with cheap taste.) And now I've got to figure out how to make a cake with the very few ingredients we have around... I may just have to give up and go shopping again, ugh. I hope Dad and Mom have a great time in Disney on their birthday/anniversary trip. I love my parents, even though I complain.  It comes with being twenty-two I suppose. 27 years of marriage. More power to ya.

I also got the first HP book in paperback, which irks me. But, it was cheaper that way. So, I shall commence reading after the cake is in the oven. I originally thought I'd listen to the audio version, but I saw the download price and I nearly swallowed my tongue. Not to mention it was frickin' 8 hours long. No. Just, no. So, me reading a bendy paperback book how many years late?

So, today, I went to start my car  so that I could get to work on time (I was already running a tad behind), and it didn't start. I tried again. No Luck. I ran back inside (running a little more behind) and told bro to take me to work. He then decided it was necessary to change his entire outfit before driving me to my job. (Okay, okay, so he was putting on his belt, socks/shoes, watch, getting his wallet, etc. You get the idea) We finally get to my job (miraculously on time), and I realize that I have no money and no lunch... I end up eating a candy bar for dinner. My boss has under staffed us for close, and joy of joys, we have customers hanging around thirty minutes after our official close time. My mom (who very nicely drove out to pick me up from work) is stuck outside in my dad's SUV with his work crap that he needs, while we close the store late. Long story short, my entire family made it to the store today at some point or other.

How much longer do I have to work retail?

Things to do once I get an actual honest to God (if modest, I'm not naive) paycheck:

1) Get new Laptop before Seymour here explodes
2) Get new car before Minnie explodes
3) Move out of my parents house before I explode

Obviously, these will not happen all at once or even in close proximity, but if I am able to accomplish even one of these by the end of this year? *dances*

The less explosions the better.

I just passed my FINAL test. *dances embarrassingly* And then got home and got my assignment for the Time in Flux ficathon..... *incomprehensible nervous gurgling*

But I'm in a such a good mood that the nervous is overshadowed by the squee.

Also, I feel like going to see a movie, today. Obviously, I will be avoiding HP like the plague, 'cause I already told a certain someone that I wouldn't see it until I'd read the books, and really the theaters will be packed. So, I think I might get my Simon Pegg squee on and be the oldest person on the audience not attached to an eight year old, and see Ice Age 3. I'm told it was much better than the first two, to which I responded "Duh! Simon Pegg."

Or, I might just continue my DW marathon, and bake cookies...

I have the solution to crummy teachers:

Don't let them retake the exams.

Holy crap. You'd have to be a moron with a hangover.

Also, I wrote my essay on Star Trek... I'm not even kidding. I was intellectual on my subject area exam. On this one? I just had fun. It was a well put together, coherent, organized essay, it was just centered around Star Trek. Because I'm that awesome.

I passed my subject area exam :D (not that I'm really all that surprised...)

My next set which will take ALL DAY is the general knowledge test, and I am not looking forward to mathematics. Oh, why must my logic be limited to practicality issues! Eh, my geometry is terrible, I have no ability to estimate time/distance, etc. BUT I liked algebra. (then failed miserably at stat and calculus) My English/reading scores must make up for this nonsense. (I just need to study)

Also, it makes me angry that they only give a pass/fail mark. I want to know by how much, darnit!

Dude. I'll be teaching in the fall... Those poor children, lol.

I just received the usual Student Update e-mail from my school. I opened it and was surprised to see that it said "Special Student Update." Then It said "Action Plan for Swine Flu"

Is it terrible that I'm laughing about it?

Really? Action plan? I don't know, I guess the reason I'm laughing is that my campus tends to be WAY over dramatic about everything. We get random updates from the school security when a guy bumps into a girl walking out of the library. We got evacuated because of a student art project. Our guerrilla theatre performances got called into campus security. The library staged a special "whispers in the stairwell" ( a recording of he sounds of students reading in the library and turning pages) and some freaked out person called it in because the speakers "looked suspicious."

So, "Action Plan for Swine Flu" makes me laugh. Especially since some Freshman will probably not read the first sentence where they reassure everyone that there are no suspected cases on our campus, and freak out.

Excellent work on the unit plan! This was a LOT of fun to read (and to participate in—e.g., the video clip). I appreciate the creativity and work that went into this plan. This would be a great deal of fun for a good teacher and her/his students. It is important, as its main theme is irony—an oft misunderstood concept (as you note with the reference to the song). As I said above, if we can’t understand irony, we miss out on so much in life itself. Of course, we would also miss out on one of the biggest themes in literature, movies, plays, etc.

You get extra credit points for such effort (and creativity).

I said I was going to use Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog in a lesson about irony. I made it a goal of mine before I left the Education department. Apparently, the prof had never seen it before. I am converting highly educated individuals to an internet based fandom. (See icon)

I am officially turning off the laptop in the next two minutes in order to study for the final of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! It'll be over with by like 10:00 tomorrow morning. Then I have to work all day. Then I have a huge project to finish for Thursday. And another final at 7:00AM. Then I graduate. Then... Then...

So, all in all, the animation was good, the backgrounds were cool, but the writing sucked. Doesn't appeal at all to me, and I won't be watching anymore. But, who knows, maybe you'll like it.

That's right, I'm beginning my final project right now, and the good news is, I actually started it three months ago. I did my HW this semester, go figure. So, now it's just a matter of formatting, editing, and filling in some blanks. It will probably take me a couple of days, but I want to finish it tonight, lol.

Oh, Dr. R. How I will miss your self-deprecating ways. Seriously, the only competent prof I've had in the Ed department. The man is nuts, but a genius. He's taught for something like 40 years, and has the best classroom management stories ever. The only class I looked forward to will soon be over :(

I just sent the prof my final project FOUR DAYS EARLY! I feel so accomplished. It's 8:00, and I'm done with a huge chunk of my  homework, and I've got a cake in the oven because I'm celebrating, and like to make my family smile. I'm just awesome!

I've got one more big project to complete by next Thursday, and two actual in-class-test finals to go, and then I'm walking next Friday.

Okay, okay. So, remember when I was b-tching about all the crap I had to get done? And I went off about my professor being weird about grades? And I had an assignment that I had to do again?

I went to the optional class today, watched him read-over and grade it, and he gave me an A! *dances* Basically, this means that I won't be failing the class! Woo! Hurrah! It's not posible for me to fail it! *dances more*

Okay, so all fic writing priviliedges are suspended from here on out until probably next Saturday... I'm graduating guys! I honestly didn't think that it would happen because of this stupid project, but it's done!

As of 11:00 Friday, April 24, I will be done. D-O-N-E. It just became real for me today, LOL!

Off to finish my final wrtten projects, mail announcements (late), etc. I love you all. Thank you for getting me through my BA!

3) Why did they let me a quarter can of frosting?
4) Do I really look that stupid?

And I need to do homework, so if you see me, yell at me to get back to work.

And, I'm also contemplating going ahead with the hair cutting... My curls lie against the bottom of shoulder blades when I let them down, and they're heavy and I want them gone. But, at the same time, I'm trying to wait for LoL to come to town so i can get my hair done for free, but it's really getting on my nerves.

I want to post a before/after pic (of the hair) but, I'm camera deprived and illiterate, so we'll see.

Aaanyway... My spring break starts Thursday around noon. I'm excited. Not that I've plans, but ya know. I think I'll go see Sunshine Cleaners Friday. If it's playing in this city. I was gonna see The Watchmen, but I'm in a dark comedy type of mood (although, from what I've heard, it might qualify)

Got my midterm grade back: 80% woot!
